  1. ELFBACK2 is ELFBack 2 by E.L.F Software.  This TT-only program provides
  2. an easy way to do hard disk backups and restores for the TT030 platform
  3. (It uses TT RAM, 68030 instructions, and the 68881 floating point
  4. co-processor, so it absolutely won't work on an ST(E).)  It can use
  5. data compression to reduce the number of floppies needed (three
  6. different built-in versions), and has a built in Ramdisk to speed up
  7. I/O.  I like the graphical representation of just how far along you are
  8. in the backup process.  To me it always seems to go faster if I can see
  9. some progress indicator rather than just a static screen.  This program
  10. also allows you to do incremental backups (in other words only the first
  11. backup is a pain!--the others are easy!), or to select the drive,
  12. directory, or file to back up (nice!).  One (of many) nice thing about
  13. this program is that it allows you to inspect each floppy before you
  14. write on it, and to either reformat, erase (faster than reformatting),
  15. or use the remaining space on the floppy and preserve the existing
  16. files.  That can save you much trouble with the "oops!" factor.  There
  17. are many other features of this program as well.  Docs and online help
